Description

The World of Work: New Directions in Musculoskeletal Care

Monday 27th September 2010

At the Royal College of Physicians

11 St Andrews Place, Regent’s Park, London NW1

The public health agenda is putting more and more emphasis on the importance of work.

The new government’s focus on healthy working lives will impact strongly on clinicians, their practice  and their patients.

Health professionals increasingly need to know how to help patients manage their conditions to stay in work.

This one-day conference will combine new approaches to clinical practice, with the latest research on musculoskeletal conditions and wider health policy, to enable health professionals to respond to this agenda.

Key speakers will include:

- Professor Mansel Aylward, Wales Centre for Health

- Professor David Coggon, Southampton General Hospital

- Dr Glenn Pransky, Centre for Disability Research, Hopkinson, USA

- Professor Dame Carol Black, Health, Work and Wellbeing

- Dr Steve Boorman, Royal Mail Group

Programme highlights include: the latest learning from rheumatology, occupational health and wider clinical initiatives to reduce work loss.
