Education Programmes News
We would like to update you on what is happening with Education Programmes at NHS Bradford and Airedale.
Despite the uncertainty within the NHS, we are still recruiting to our Postgraduate Diploma courses. The dates for the next entry points are given below.
Twelve students will be graduating in July, including the first cohort for the Musculoskeletal Medicine with Rheumatology Diploma and three students from the Cardiology satellite we ran in Colchester.
These graduates, as well as past graduates and our current students, could not have achieved what they have without the support and guidance of their clinical mentors.
Thank you all for your invaluable contribution to the Postgraduate Diplomas and to championing collaborative working across primary and secondary care.
New developments
The Cardiology Diploma in now accredited by the British Cardiovascular Society.
We are always looking for ways to improve the student experience and to expand our portfolio of courses.
We now run Student Study Support Days twice a year for all students on the Diploma courses. This is to support them in case study writing, research and presentation skills. The content is delivered by academic staff from the School of Health Studies at the University of Bradford.
Currently we are working with our colleagues at the University of Bradford to develop a Diploma in Long Term Conditions.
We are looking to recruit to the first cohort of a Familial Hypercholesterolaemia Module in the autumn.
We are working with the Atrial Fibrillation Association to develop a module in Atrial Fibrillation. Both these modules will be available as one of the three clinical modules in the Cardiology Diploma or as a stand alone 30 master’s level credits award.
Please contact me if you would like to be sent further information on these courses and details of the start dates when they are fully confirmed.
We now run a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Improvement Methodologies for Health Service Managers. This course will be of interest to Practice Managers as well as managers in secondary care and PCTs. Five students on the latest cohort will be completing in August.
All our courses are accredited by the University of Bradford
